Semantic Recall
Semantic recall is the ability of an LLM to retrieve and cite content based on meaning, context, and intent rather than exact keyword matching. When a user asks an AI system a question, the model retrieves information from its training data and any connected retrieval systems using semantic understanding. Content optimized for semantic recall is structured so that LLMs can find and cite it even when users phrase questions differently than the exact terms on the page.
